Twin songs win reader poll

The baby song title poll has closed and we have twin winners; “Baby Love” and “I Got You Babe.” Both songs were popular when Sandy and Dave were babies. "Baby Love" was a number-one hit for four weeks in the fall of 1964 for The Supremes. Written and produced by Motown's Holland-Dozier-Holland, "Baby Love," was one of the most popular songs of the late 20th century, and the group’s most successful single. "I Got You Babe" became Sonny and Cher’s biggest single, their signature song, and a defining recording of the early hippie countercultural movement. In August of 1965, the single reached the number-one spot for three weeks. Sonny Bono wrote the song late one night in his basement, inspired by the idea of capitalizing on the popularity of the term "babe," as heard in Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe" which was a hit for The Turtles.
