Winter Training
Swimming is such great exercise. It is a healthy workout that can be
done for a lifetime. The activity is low-impact and generates very few if any injuries.
Swimming strengthens the body and clears the mind. Our boys have been taking
swimming lessons at the YMCA for years and have really improved. We have made
no goals to competitively swim, only develop their technique and master the
four strokes; freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. The YMCA
offers two-week swimming lesson sessions year round, and we sign up whenever
there is downtimes between sports. Those breaks are most common in the
wintertime and by swimming all winter Davey and Benji enter spring baseball
season to top shape.
