It’s interesting how babies fight sleep. They’ll play spiritedly until they are so tired that they can’t hold up their head and then protest profoundly when you try to put them down to bed. By contrast, when Mommy and Daddy are tired, they become fussy if they aren’t allowed to lie down. Three times a day we experience conflict due to the baby-sleep resistance issue. Sometimes if all other efforts fail, we are forced to simply put them in their cribs and allow them to cry themselves to sleep. On this day Davey was so tired (and stubborn) that he went to sleep while still sitting.
